Hernia can’t be called a disease; it is more like a medical condition. When an organ begins to protrude outside its natural region or cavity the person is said to suffer from hernia. Types of hernia are numerous. Incisional hernia, umbilical hernia, femoral hernia, and diaphragmatic hernia are some of the different types of hernia.

Incisional hernia happens it the area of the abdomen which has not recovered fully from a surgical scar. Through this surgical scar abdominal organs will start protruding outside. Those who fall under the high risk category include obese people, pregnant women and patients with a history of repeated surgeries in the abdomen region. After undergoing surgery in the abdomen region if the patient puts significant weight they increase their chances of getting this type of hernia. If the patient becomes pregnant or undertakes activities that increase abdominal pressure they increase their chances of being affected by incisional hernia. Such patients should not undertake such activities at least till the scar heal properly.

While performing this surgery the surgeon might follow a tension free repair technique. This technique means that the surgeon will first push the organ back into place and then use a surgical implant (mesh) to make sure that the protruding organ stays in its place. Of the many surgical implants that the surgeon can choose from one is SURGIMESH.

SURGIMESH is manufactured by a French company. The name of this French company is ASPIDE MEDICAL. Starting it operation in the year 1994, the company designed many surgical implants for treating hernia. In order to design these surgical implants they took the help of surgeons who had experience in performing hernia operations. The names of the implants designed by ASPIDE MEDICAL are EASY PLUG PATCH SYSTEM, SURGIMESH XB, and WN. These surgical implants can be used to treat different types of hernia.
