For years so many people have been eating a lot of fast foods also called junk foods. These foods are not only delicious but they are quick to prepare. One can also grab them enroute to work or from work. So much has been said on the dangers these foods pose to those who take them. Once a person is diagnosed with leaky gut syndrome, he/she must adhere to a strict diet prescribed by a nutritionist. There are some foods that one has to do away with including all junk foods.
Other foods that are not advised are table salt, processed foods, sugars, artificial sweeteners, dairy milk and its products, soy/tofu and so many others. These foods usually undo any healing process that has taken place. The gut is naturally programmed to heal itself naturally every 2 to 3 days. These foods normally cause inflammations that undo any healing in the gut system. Artificial sugars and sweeteners are not easily digested. This means that the body will automatically reject these foods and dump them in the gut system. When sugar stays in the gut system, it starts to ferment. Fermented sugar is a fertile breeding ground for yeast. Yeast is a beneficial part of the gut flora if it is in the right quantity. Fermented sugar only multiplies this number. The yeast roots grow and attach themselves to the gut lining. Further growth expands the tight junctions of the veleal cells. This opens up the way for larger substances and organism to get through into the blood stream.
A poor diet and the wrong foods can result in: Lack of nutrition, which affects the proper functioning of bodily systems; A high intake of toxins and poisons, further burdening the body's immune system as well as other organs and systems; Malfunction of the body's elimination systems, leading to wastes accumulating in the body etc
Soy/tofu is considered as a health food by most nutritionists, but this is not the case with leaky gut. Proteins are not easily digested in a leaky gut leading to them being absorbed into the blood stream in their semi-digested state. They are then tagged as harmful by the immune system and will always get rejected. This means there will be increased inflammations in the gut system which increases the leaky gut condition. This shows that they should be avoided as much as possible in the healing process of leaky gut.
