In 2010, Bupa International became a three-time recipient of the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the International Trade category. The honor was granted for continued growth in earnings and success in other countries. Bupa won the Queen’s Award for outstanding achievement in 2005 and 1999. In 2009, for the fourth year in a row, the UK based Health Insurance Awards named Bupa International the Best International Private Medical Insurance Provider. It was the ninth time that Bupa earned this distinction. In 2000, Bupa also received the FT Business Offshore Excellence award.
Worldwide Medical Insurance
Worldwide health insurance covers members for all essential hospital treatment, including planned and emergency visits. Coverage includes in hospital or out patient surgeries, cancer treatments and advanced imaging. Worldwide medical plus covers consultations with a physician or specialist and out patient medical treatments. Prescription medications, including those needed for chronic conditions, and medical supplies such as oxygen and wheelchairs are also offered under the worldwide health insurance plan. Members with a pre existing condition have the option of applying for coverage.
Hospitals and Clinics
Bupa worldwide health insurance members can receive treatment from any hospital, clinic or medical practitioner recognized by Bupa. Additionally, Bupa has a network of more than 7,500 hospitals and clinics that they have pre approved for direct payment on members’ behalf. Private health insurance customers can contact the Medical Centre for assistance in locating medical facilities and making appointments.
Payment
Arranging payment for medical services is easy. You contact Bupa health insurance and tell them what treatment you need. Bupa reviews your doctor’s diagnosis and tells you if they cover the treatment. Pre authorized documents are sent to your physician and your provider attaches an invoice and resubmits them. Bupa processes your claim for and pays your doctor directly. You will receive a statement with all payment details. Any portion of your bill not covered by your plan should be arranged privately between you and your doctor. You can also receive and pay for your treatment prior to receiving pre authorization from Bupa. You can complete a claim form at a later date with your paid invoice and collect a reimbursement.
