The piano is a musical instrument known to most civilized people. There are two general classifications of pianos, the grand piano and the upright piano. The grand piano has horizontal strings and frames while the upright, or the vertical piano, has vertical frames and strings.
The piano is considered a versatile instrument because it can play many different music genres like pop, jazz, rock and others. It is also capable of making people feel different emotions once they hear its excellent music. Learning piano is possible for people of all ages but it is best to start in an early age because children's minds are known to be flexible in absorbing and comprehending things taught to them so, it is easy to program their skills and talents in this musical field. Also, it usually takes years to learn the piano properly. A child who learns piano in an early age could make a career out of it when he grows older.
Learning to play piano can be achieved through taking up children piano lessons. For children, there are a lot of benefits children piano lessons could give. Because of the analytical thinking employed in learning to play the piano, a child easily surpasses the abilities of his peers who are not involved in learning an instrument, in academics, more notably in math. This fact has been proven time and again in many scientific studies.
Through piano lessons, children develop confidence in dealing with people and tasks. Their self-esteem is enhanced therefore they will be able to focus on their objectives in the field and they will have greater chance to reach their goals in life. The children's skills will be challenged through competitions.

Children will gain a positive perception on the challenges they may encounter in the future. Their experiences will give them the ability to handle well everything that will come their way.
Piano lessons are good because they help develop the motor skills and coordination of a growing child much faster. Learning to play the piano requires a great deal of focus and deep concentration. The process of reading and interpreting notes develop in a child the very useful skill of critical thinking. This skill would greatly assist the child in dealing with the complexities that he will undertake in his journey in life. Most children who learn to play piano develop flexible and well-rounded personalities. This will help them to adapt easily in the circumstances of the fast changing world.
Strong foundation and thorough understanding in music and musical instruments create deep commitment and lifetime appreciation in a person. The benefits of piano lessons do not only limit the child's talents and skills to the field of music but it also helps in developing the child's motor skills, perception, concentration and problem solving abilities to guide and prepare him to become not only a great pianist but a great person as well.
