The Nintendo Wii launched with a promise to revolutionize the way games are played. Years have past, and the Wii has done exactly what it promised to do. Even The President of the United Sates owns a Wii and they can be found in schools, retirement homes, and almost every other home in America. Nintendo has sold more consoles than playstation and Xbox combined. They have dominated the console market, but Microsoft is final deciding to do something about it.

Project Natal is their answer to the uncheck problem of the Wii. If you don't know what Project Natal is, its a motion, gesture, and facial, sensor and it just might change the face of gaming. Natal doesn't have a release date yet, but it is already being show cased at trade show events like E3. Natal is getting a positive reaction from people and developers. It won't ever replace a hand held controller, but the wii opened up a whole new world of gaming and Microsoft is going to explore those possibilities.

The Xbox 360 has never been in direct competition with the Wii, they are indirect competitors. Xbox 360 has always been going head-to-head with Sony and it's playstation 3. These game consoles appeal to the hardcore gamers that want the best graphics and games with non-stop action. After the Wii came out, Microsoft paid attention. Their first step to compete with the Wii was to try and broaden their audience and they did this with the introduction of friendly avatars and a slick new dashboard. Now Project Natal is the next step in the fight against the Wii.

Since Natal is already being shown to the public, we can expect a release sometime next year. It will probably come out just in time for the 2010 holiday season along with a couple of new games to support it. I'm excited about this new addition to the xbox 360, and I'm sure those Wii fans will like it too.
