Often, the most economical marketing techniques are the old and proven ways such as the postcards. Having been used in the business industry for long now, these simple cards have proven themselves as one of the most powerful and inexpensive marketing tool to use. Businesses looking to save a bundle on their marketing campaign should seriously consider these cards.
However, before you launch your postcardcampaign in full blast, there are some elements you need to consider in the design process. These are the following:
• attention-grabbing power
• important message
• product detail
• forceful offer
Attention-Grabbing Power. Remember that your card will be stuffed in the mail box alongside magazines, bills, and other post cards. You only have a few seconds to persuade your prospect to take a look at your card before it gets tossed in the trash. So, how do you do this?
You need to make your card have exceptional attention-grabbing power. You need to actually let it stop the subliminal urge of your prospect to throw your card. You have to make your card as striking and enticing as much as possible.
One good way to do this is to make the front of your postcard printing as a billboard. Use enticing images and bold headline. A cute design is always safe, but you have to do better than that if you want to really make a sale.
Important message. The trick to creating a post card with attention-grabbing power is to use a relevant message. If you are going to use images to reinforce your message, be sure that they have relevance to your product. If your message is not important and the images are not relevance, your prospect will immediately disconnect with your card and toss your card immediately into the trash.
Product detail. This is where you will explain the products or services you offer. Some products need no explanation while there are others that need lengthy explanations. When writing your product detail, you need to presume the lowest level of comprehension. As much as possible you need to write about the product in the simplest way. Keep in mind that your goal is to focus on the benefits of your products, and if your prospect doesn’t clearly understand your product and its features, the benefits will be completely lost.
Forceful offer. It is important that you need a compelling offer in your post card. If you want people to make an action, you need to give them a reason to respond to your card. The better your offer, the higher response rate you get.
Keep in mind thought that your mail goal with your card is simply awareness. There is simply not enough space in your card to close a sale. What you can only do is to motivate prospects to learn more about your offer by calling you or visiting your web site. You know that in time your prospect is going to need your product, and you would want to be in front of them when that need arises.
