When deciding on a photo cards, there are three things you need to keep in mind:
• Where will you be handing out your cards?
• When will they be distributed?
• Who will they be given to? In other words, who are you target customers?
When you will be handing out your card to people personally when networking, a card with no photo will work as there is a face to put with the business card. But if you will be posting your card in a bulletin board in a grocery store or the public library where you basically don’t have personal contact with your target customers, you are simply giving out your details with no face attached to them. People looking at your card won’t have much connection with your business as they won’t get easily familiar with your face.
But if your card is for your existing customers, like for example current customers at your salon, you don’t have to put your photo in the card as they are already familiar with you and you’re your business does.
So when designing your card, after you have decided on the information to include, you need to decide whether to add a photo, logo, or graphic in your card or not. You don’t want a picture or graphic that is distracting and will take away the real purpose of your card. Just the same you don’t want the picture to take over the entire card as there is only a limited space it there, yet you would not want a too small picture that people can’t make out the picture on the card.
When consider a photo or graphic in your business card templates, there are some things that you need to think about:
• Your photo or graphic will help your build trust. It will help you create a relationship with your customers, so as much as possible you want a photo will give your card a personal touch. The right photo will help people get more familiar with you and your business. After all, trust is very important in business.
• A photo in your card will make it easier for your target customers to remember you. A lot of your correspondence will be through e-mail. This will make it hard for people to remember you or even know what you look like when they come in to meet you. If they have your photo card, they will be familiar with you right away.
• Photo cards are more striking and eye-catching. Although black and white cards can still work today, the common trend is to use color and images to make cards more appealing. If you are able to make your card exceptionally enticing, you are greatly reducing the chance of finding your card in the trash. That’s that last thing would want to happen.
