Working in the Search engine optimisation industry you may be well used to having to change your approach to the job when things change. It is critically important to be on the ball with new information in order to keep up with the pack. Now that 2011 is upon us it is time to take stock of the situation, and we can see a few changes that might have been expected. We've noticed though that Page Rank is turning into even less reliable as a source of deciding how good a web page is. As you would imagine this is something that people in the community were aware of last year, but it is becoming more of an concern now. Naturally, understanding this issue is the easy part. The difficulty will be finding a way to convince your consumers that your new approach to your work which will give scant regard to page rank, is the right way to go. We can forget all about page rank being a defining factor in whether a site is good, but can you persuade your client to feel the same way?
It is likely that the biggest change to your work this year is going to be outlining the shifts in Search engine optimization to your clients. You have to find out what they want, and be certain that they can see how you are going to get results for them. If you aren't clear, then it is going to be difficult for them to understand just how you are helping. It is important to take time out of your work to make sure that your client understands about page rank, and why will be giving it scant regard when it comes to judging websites. Doing this might be difficult, but it will be time well spent when you don't have to explain why you have spent hours of your campaign finding websites which are relevant to your site rather than high in page rank.
You will find that once your client understands your work a bit more they will be in control of the forward motion of their business which will put them at ease. The thing to remember for 2011 is to be transparent all the time. In the eyes of the search engines like yahoo, and needless to say in the eyes of your client. This year you have three things to remember. Firstly do all you are able for your customer, additionally, teach your clients about the work you are doing, and thirdly sell your strategies to them based on their new found awareness.
