Beach Haven is may seem like a typical beach town, but it's not. This special area isn't littered with franchises. This is small family owned businesses, and offers plenty of charming shops, small restaurants and more without having to resort to those boxed frachnise units you see everywhere else. Beach Haven is small business friendly.
Beach Haven hotels are mom and pop hotels. Again franchises don't take over this island, which gives it a really special feel. Long Beach Island is only 18 miles long, but you'll find enough hotels to accomodate you, without overtaking the island.
While you're visiting Beach Haven, be sure to explore the entire island. You'll love seeing the 150 year old lighthouse. Old Barney, the Barnegat Lighthouse sits at the north end of the island.
Kids will love Fantasy Island, miniature golf, crafts and of course playing on the clean beaches Adults will love the charming feel of Bay Village, great restaurants, plenty of shopping, and the family feel of the island.
Grab a fishing pole and try surf fishing, or maybe head over to the bay and go crabbing. Immerse yourself in activities and enjoy your next trip to Beach Haven, New Jersey.
If you're a seafood lover, you'll have plenty of choices from the low key Gazebo to the open year round Tucker's. Check out the island for plenty of good fare. You've got to try the crab cakes at the Lobster Claw in Surf City!
Always wanted to surf? Surfing has become a very populr activity on Long Beach Island. With plenty of surf shops, and many giving surf lessons, you'll soon be catching a wave, and surfing yourself!
Chater a boat and enjoy some deep sea fishing. Take a boat ride over to Atlantic City just south of here. In fact, if you go to the southern most point of Long Beach Island, you can see Atlantic City across the water in the night. You'll see the lights in the night skyline down in Holgate.
You'll also want to check out The Surflight Theater to see what's playing. You'll always find a good show here. Right next door you can enjoy ice cream with singing waiters! Enjoy a bite to eat, and some fun music.
In the fall, mark your calendar and participate in the hugely anticipated annual Chowderfest. Sample all the different chowders and be sure to vote for your favorite chowder. Will your favorite win Grand Champion this year?
